In 1972 one film defined a music, a lifestyle… a generation. That film was Morning of the Earth, the humble surf documentary by Albe Falzon that became an iconic cult classic. More than 36 years later, the movie has been reborn creating an atmosphere of the 70’s, lived out in the sound and sight technology of today.

Following sell-out shows in Sydney and Melbourne in 2008, local Port Macquarie company Sand Events have teamed up with Chugg Entertainment to bring this epic journey to Cassegrain Winery, Port Macquarie on April 11.

Sundowner Holidays have jumped on board with Sand Events and Chugg to create a cruisy Easter long-weekend getaway staying in the heart of beautiful Port Macquarie - perfect for families or groups of friends. The concert features the full length film – plus new footage from Albe and some of today’s hottest film makers - played as the backdrop on a big screen to performances of the entire soundtrack.  The original writers and performers Brian Cadd and Tim Gaze are joined by Mike Rudd, the distinctive allure of Aria nominee Lior and the collective musical energy of Old Man River to launch the film into the realms of today – but maintaining the original 70’s surf vibe.

The soundtrack will include a musical mélange of all the classic tracks including ‘Making It On Your Own’ and ‘Simple Ben’. As are all involved in this production, Lior is honored to be a part of Australian film history and what the movie represents.
